Telling a wedding well comes down to being in the right place at the right moment. Most of our coverage is documentary: the nervous laughter in the getting-ready room, the moment a father's eyes fill up, a hand squeezed a little tighter during the vows. We don't stage those moments; we stay out of the way and catch them.

During the portrait session we are more hands-on. Most couples don't feel natural in front of a camera, so instead of asking you to smile we ask you to walk, whisper something to each other or just look out over the bay. The result is photographs that look like you, and that won't feel dated in twenty years.

Light, seasons and the meltem wind

Bodrum's beauty is also a technical test. The summer midday sun is hard and vertical: squinting faces against whitewashed walls and a blown-out sky. That's why we schedule couple portraits as close as possible to golden hour, the last hour before sunset. In June and July the sun sets around 8:30 pm, so we recommend building your ceremony time around that light.

The meltem, the steady northerly wind of the Aegean summer, is both a gift and a risk for veils and chiffon dresses. We check its direction in advance and pose with the wind rather than against it. May–June and September–October are the most comfortable wedding months, with softer light and fewer crowds.

Tip: If your ceremony spot faces west, don't put the sunset directly behind you. Choose an angle with side light instead: faces stay bright and the sky keeps its colour.

How your wedding day flows

Every wedding is different, but a typical day of coverage looks like this:

• Getting ready: Details first (dress, rings, invitations, bouquet), then the bride and groom getting ready.
• First look (optional): A short private moment before the ceremony. It's emotional and frees up time for portraits.
• Ceremony: Civil or symbolic ceremony, guest reactions, the rings and the applause.
• Family and group photos: Done in 15–20 minutes with a list prepared in advance.
• Golden hour portraits: A short walk or a nearby viewpoint in the sunset light.
• Celebration: First dance, speeches, the cake and the best moments on the dance floor.

Wedding photo locations in Bodrum

The peninsula offers very different textures within a single day. Bodrum Castle (the Castle of St. Peter) and the marina make a classic backdrop, while the narrow streets of the old town, with their bougainvillea and blue doors, are perfect for warm, romantic frames. Hiring separate photo and video crews often means two teams stepping into each other's frames during the ceremony. We run photo and video under one plan so they complement each other. Drone flights in Türkiye require registration with the civil aviation authority (SHGM) and, in some zones, additional permission, so we handle the flight planning and the permit side for you.

A wedding is rarely just one day. The low light and packed dance floor of a henna night call for a different technique than a daytime wedding: we use flash with restraint and freeze the movement without killing the warm colour of the room. A plan B for wind and weather

Bodrum summers are usually reliable, but April, May and October weddings can always bring a sudden shower or a strong gust. During the site visit we agree a covered or wind-sheltered alternative at your venue and, if needed, move portraits a little earlier or later. An overcast sky often gives far softer, more flattering light than people expect; what matters is that the team is prepared. Because we share one plan with your wedding planner, last-minute changes are handled without your guests noticing.
