Reliable results in difficult light

The hardest part of event photography is light. Stage lights change colour in seconds, smoke machines flatten contrast and evening receptions rarely have enough ambient light. We work with fast lenses and camera bodies that stay clean at high ISO, and we don't use flash during performances so we never distract the artists.

For speeches, award presentations and ribbon cuttings, when the stage light isn't enough, we use bounced flash with restraint. The aim is images that keep the atmosphere of the room while showing faces sharp and in natural colour.

Tip: If you can, place the speaker's lectern and the award area at the brightest spot on stage. A backdrop showing your logo makes a big difference for press photos.

Corporate events and launches

At a corporate event, photography is not just a souvenir; it is communication material. That's why we take a short brief before the shoot: which speakers, sponsors and logos must be visible, which guests need portraits, which images go to the press? We prepare a shot list covering arrivals, the stage, networking, product details and wide views of the venue.

Stage performances and shows

Catching the right moment in dance and stage shows means feeling the music and the choreography. The top of a jump, the instant a folk-dance group strikes the floor in unison, the second an acrobatic figure locks into place: half a second late and it's gone. Whenever possible we attend the rehearsal to learn the lighting plot and the key moments in advance.

For school and club shows, parents and teams want every child or dancer to have at least a few good frames, so we plan the coverage to balance group shots with individual ones.

Private parties and birthdays

At birthdays, anniversaries and family celebrations, the priority is intimacy: children gathered around the cake, a grandmother hugging her grandchild, an unexpected burst of laughter. We move quietly through the crowd and capture natural interaction instead of poses. If you like, we can also plan a short family portrait session at the start of the event or at sunset.

Beach club and outdoor events

Bodrum's summer season is the capital of outdoor events. We check the sunset time and the venue's lighting in advance and plan the transitions around them. At large open-air and seaside events, and where permits allow, we can also capture aerial overviews of the venue and the crowd with a drone.

Yacht launches and marina events

The marinas around Bodrum host some of the yachting industry's key events. Launching a yacht with a travel lift is slow but unrepeatable: the moment the hull lifts, the moment it touches the water and the crew's reactions all have to be caught in one take. We talk to the operations team beforehand and, following safety rules, agree where we can stand around the lift and the quay. With photo and video from the ground and, where permits allow, a drone, we capture the same moment from several angles and build a complete archive for both press and the shipyard's marketing.

To make the shoot efficient, we ask event owners for a few things in advance:

• A list of people who must be photographed, ideally with photos

• A contact person at the venue
